How to: Dress like Alexa Chung

For those who don't know who Alexa is... she's my ultimate girl crush! (other than Miss Alba, VB, Mila Kunis...etc) OK, a bit about Alexa- she's a model and a British TV presenter. She's the newest addition to my style icon list. I can't seem to stop stalking her! Haha I even confessed my feelings to her Twitter page (talk about stalker alert!)

Alexa's personal style is utterly inspirational and plain awesome. Everyone seems to be madly in love with this British beauty- her unique looks inspires legions of copycats keen to emulate her trademark kooky style. (Yes I am one of them!!)

To look as chic as Alexa you don't need to fork out big bucks.
We'll have a looky of her style file and I'll break down her juicy couture secrets.

How to get Alexa's style?

Alexa has always manage to look effortlessly stylish. She doesn't have one particular style attached to her name- to me she's a style chameleon. Alexa is always seen mixing clothing items that you would normally not pair together, whether it’s colours, materials, sizes or patterns. It seems as if she just ‘throws’ something on without thinking much about it, hence effortlessly chic.

I had lots of fun browsing around the net to gather some pictures and getting inspirations of her style. I've put together a few examples of outfits that she has worn on a separate occasions to get a few ideas on how to emulate her look.

{Pure & Natural}
Alexa is not the type of chick who likes to dress to impress. She tends to choose colours that are natural and simple. Beige is a must have colour in your wardrobe- as it is great for any skin colour and you can wear it in any season.

{denim SHORTS}
Who doesn't own at least one pair of denim shorts really? I have at least 3 of them! You can wear it in any season of the year- if you don't own one I highly recommend you to go and get some (yes, definitely more than one!) Alexa loves to mix and match her denim shorts to get various different looks.

{black&white}
This is one of my favourite look of hers. I've copied this style a few times. I love the fact that it's so simple- yet very chic! Black shorts/skirt and a white collared shirt can come across very officey, however Alexa wore simple accessories and hairdos to give a laid back impression to the look.

I honestly can go on and on about every outfits that she wear! (adore them all!!)So I'm just going to get to the point and gives you tips of how to dress like miss fashionista here:

#1 SHOW OFF LEGS
Alexa has such a gorgeous figure; she loves to show off her skinny long legs by wearing a lot of short skirts, dresses and shorts. Although she wears a lot of mini outfits, Alexa managed to avoid of looking too provocative. She always ensures the rest of her body are covered up.

- Avoid wearing dresses or skirts that are too tight
- Uses tights or stockings as an aid for Winter season (being sexy isn't always showing skin)
- Choose one or the other; when showing off your legs make sure that's the only skin that are showing (wear long sleeve tops or blazer)
- It's all about the heels! Try shoes colour that compliments your skin (nude, beige, soft pink) and socks-in-heels look definitely worth a try, I know it seems weird but trust me it gives your outfit a chic twist :)

#2 OVERSIZED ITEMS
Alexa is often seen wearing oversized items whether it's a blazer, coat or cardigan. It gives her an effortless edgy look. So raid your wardrobes for any big slouchy items, or browse through your mom's or nana's as they always have rad cardigans or blazers hidden in their closet.

- Cardigans: try choosing the slouchy ones
- Long necklaces: try wearing a few at once
- Mix skull-heads jewels, animal rings etc, with feminine designs
